spammers

FYI, in case you didn't already know.

mycheckfree.com is spam. it's also checkfree.com

They try scaring you saying that when you were logged on trying to make a payment certain things may have happened, saying they partnered with McAfee and when you tried to make your online bill pay and the page didn't load it's because there was a virus, they detected it, and you can get a "free" download of McAfee. Funny thing is, we already have mcafee. We hate it, but it was free for 15 months when we got my system.

So, beware of people who say they know things about you, double check your browsing history to see if you really were banking at the time it says you were (between 12:15 am and 10:30 am), note if it's a broad time like that it's most likely spam, as if it were real IT personell contacting you they wouldn't need to include your home address, and they wouldn't be offering free virus protection. They would say "you have an issue...deal with it". Or, something more along those lines. Long and short? Keep your eyes out for people trying to tell you they know things about you, if it feels fishy, it's probably the kelp. Er, uh, it is.

I've been getting thinks in my junk mail box from jon crow about tag something-or-other website. I figure it's another phishing incident as well.
